Does anybody here ride on Stone Mtn? I've been on it a bit, but still have plenty to explore.
I'd like to ride there with somebody who knows the trails. If you don't know them it would still be good to have somebody to explore with.
I'll be riding there this Sunday if anybody wants to ride. Any other times would be good too, just let me know.
Send me a PM.

I do. Well ride to White Rocks, around that area. I can show you an awesome loop from our park here in Bell County (Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park) to White Rocks and back.

I'm riding the Stone Mtn along the NC/TN state line, close to Mtn. City, TN. I think you may be talking about a different area?

Crackers Neck goes up Stone Mtn. from the Hwy 167 side. There's an entrance from Hwy 421 & also the state line on Bulldog/Beaver Dam Rd. I live on the NC side of that ridge, and we call it Stone Mtn. Don't the folks in TN call it Stone Mtn too?
Let me know if you'd like to meet there sometime. It's one of my favorite places to ride and I still have a lot of it to explore. I'm trying to locate the "old trail" which follows the ridgeline south.

not for sure what Tn calls it? I'll have to check around there in Mtn City with those who live there & see. I live in elizabethton tn. is this legal to ride there? is there a cost? A number of years ago, word was you can ride on crackers neck, a number of us got there & a gent stopped us & told us we were on private property & could be arrested. haven't been back since. sure, would like to meet to ride. always looking for places to ride especially if close. Until Doe or Callalantee opens, Buffalo the closest place to ride that i know of. don't know where Bulldog/Beaver Dam is. Will have to check it out.

i have ridden stone mountain but the access i use is off 421 to the antenna towers. There is a parking area there where you will not be harassed but if you ask the owner he will tell you you cannot ride there but there is a spot where a lot of people park to ride.
It is a liability thing and i have never been approached are told there was a problem riding there. There is some pretty extreme riding there i am sure that i have not explored it all.

if not legal, not trying. i learned my lesson too well. was going over to NC, not far from here in Elizabethton. been going for almost 2 years, the pastor, many years. Wouldn't you know, come out of the woods & there sat the forest reserve guy. he asked if we came down that trail over there. we told him yes. He said, the trail you just came down, half is piscah in NC & the other half is Appalachian in Tn. He said i can give you 6 fines & then call TN & you get another 6. A total of 12 fines per person. There was 3 of us. He only gave us one at 75.00 so for me, not going to chance it.
