There is plenty still to be done in preparation for the fund raiser on September 22nd. Parking will be an issue this day we will need volunteers to help with parking our guest and with spreading the word to be on their best "behavior" no bad apples. There will be some very important governmental people here this day and we must be good ambassadors of our sport. We will also need people to help with the guided rides remember the mountain is not yet open. Help will also be needed to answer questions and with set up of equipment. Any and all help is needed and greatly appreciated. Please contact Sam white or Mike farmer the numbers are avail on the MTRA web site under the contacts tab.

I'm a little confused. I don't know where the "contact tab" is for the phone numbers to call about volunteering. I don't know what my schedule is like for the 22nd yet, but would like to help clear trails sometime. I enjoyed attending the meeting at Pardner's last night. I didn't realize how many people would be there. I was impressed by the NOVCC award. I hadn't heard of them before, but realized that it was a big honor & a big achievement for MTRA. (here's a link to their site: www.nohvcc.org/ ). Also, I should have asked at the meeting, how do I join MTRA? What's involved, do I need to fill out a form, are there fees or dues, etc.? And where do I get the cool MTRA T-shirt? Do you have stickers too? Someone had an agreement letter from the Park Service or Rangers that they said we could get to read as a pdf through email. I wonder if it could be posted on the forum, so we could read it and discuss it in one place? Btw, my wife and daughter got excited when I told them that they will be able to ride around on 4-wheelers through Mountain City. LOL! (I think there's going to be a lot of folks who are afraid of riding a motorcycle finally discover the thrill of "dual sporting" ! ) I can see a big 4-wheeler rental business opportunity for somebody in Mtn City.

Is there an official page with a flyer or something that I can share a link to with the other motorcycle forums I visit.
I've posted the general info that I know on ADVrider.com and on ThumperTalk, but it would be good to have an info link to post also.
Have you posted info about the fundraiser in all of the area newspapers? If so, which ones? Don't forget the Mountain Times & the High Country News which cover Boone/Blowing Rock & the surrounding NC counties.
I'm just trying to help get the word out.

What were the results from the fundraiser? Did we meet the $1500 goal? I'm sure we must have, because the turnout was great.

Any Doe Mtn. "news"?
Has anybody started working on a trail map that shows the current, and also the future trails that are planned?

There is not a lot of Doe Mountain news at this time since we are waiting for the DMRA's appointments to be finalized. This land has been designated multi use so there will be a lot to sort out before maps will be printed. However most of the trails are roads at this time and pretty easy to navigate. Hunting is now open on Doe so i am sure people are using the roads for access. If you do go there it might be a good ideas to wear blaze orange. Especially when gun season opens up.
